The second-hand shopping app has altered its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments failing to inform every member regarding the update. Digital Channels Response Countless users and merchants are posting online stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification. Vinted explained the new system was more in line with other platforms. They have suggested members to review their products and update the measurements by hand if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Size Classification Changes Previously, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Member Stories Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she explained. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK. It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification on the platform has faced criticism: previously, the service retracted a modification to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
